This was the last week of school before the summer break! Students finished creating their final draft of realistic fiction along with their comic strips. Great job everyone and have a wonderful summer break. See you in August!
Week 36: Monday, May 27th Friday, May 31st
This week, students began with fun writing activity. One of the questions from the student was "If you get to pick anything, what would you like to be?" We had some funny answers! Afterward, students started sharing their characters and its personalities. They also started drafting where they had to write in their own words. We also had time to share their first half of drafting, and I am excited to see their final product along with their comic strips!
Week 35: Monday, May 20th to Friday, May 24th
This week, students finally have started their last writing of this school year. They started learning about "Realistic Fiction" where their goal is to create their own realistic fiction and turn into comic strips. They were very excited to turn their writing into comic strips! This week, students learned the difference between realistic fiction and non-realistic fiction. Moreover, they started creating their own characters and had shared with their friends.
Friday, May 17th: Wax Museum Project
Today was their big day! They finally became their chosen person and gave speeches to the visitors. They all did an awesome job. Congratulations :)
Week 34: Monday, May 13th to Friday, May 17th
This week was their final week of preparing for their "Wax Museum." Students put a lot of effort into their posters and practiced many times for their speeches.
Week 33: Monday, May 6th to Friday, May 1oth
Students have started working on their projects! Last week, they have finished working on their wax museum note where they had to write down the information that they wanted to write on their posters. In addition, they worked on the timeline to show on their posters. I loved how they were excited to work on their posters for their wax museum project. I can't wait to see their presentation on May 17th!
Week 32: Monday, April 29th to Friday, May 3rd
Again, congratulations 2nd grades! You all did a great job working on your biographies. Now, Grade 2s are extending their writing into a wax museum project where they need to dress up as their person and give a speech. Their wax museum project is going to be on Friday, May 17th. They are all excited to present their people!
